HomeAgain continually discusses how our agency can have a stronger impact on the communities we serve. Through our active role in a network of area service providers known as the Greater Richmond Continuum of Care, we are working to ensure fewer people in the region suffer a housing crisis.
On January 23 & 24, homeless service providers across the nation will simultaneously conduct the 2019 Point-In-Time count. Locally, the PIT count will take place at HomeAgain’s three shelter facilities, and throughout Greater Richmond. Mandated by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), PIT count survey data provides a snapshot of the number of individuals experiencing homelessness. 2018 PIT count data shows that on any given night 577 men, women, and children are without shelter in the Richmond region.
Through PIT count data analysis, services providers are able to identify trends and adjust programs to better meet the evolving needs of our community. Our partner agency, Homeward, is organizing all PIT count efforts, including volunteers. To volunteer please sign up at: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60b0a4da8a729a6fa7-2018
