When his wife was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, Mr. Moss spent every moment by her side. Less than a year later he lost his wife, and was also laid off from his job. For the first time in his life, Mr. Moss couldn’t afford his apartment and had no place to call home.
“I don’t call it homeless, I call it a setback”
Mr. Moss said in reference to his stay at HomeAgain’s men’s shelter. In his few months at HomeAgain, Mr. Moss has become employed and already received his first promotion. A strong believer in working for what you want, he is set to move out of the shelter and into his own apartment this month.
The support he has received from HomeAgain made it possible for him to get a job, save money, and develop a budget. When asked what HomeAgain services meant to him, Mr. Moss said, “They give you the chance, that opportunity to make that move. But you have to want it, you have to go out and get it, because nothing’s coming to you.”
