Volunteers Create Comforting Shelter Spaces

Volunteer season is in full swing at HomeAgain and our dedicated community partners are helping refresh HomeAgain’s shelter spaces.

Members of St. Paul’s Baptist church transformed the living room area at our Men’s Emergency Shelter. While a fresh coat of paint may seem trivial, the new look creates a more comfortable space where our clients can feel at home. Additional volunteers from out of town continued the project by painting the hallway and dorm room doors.

UPS Freight volunteered as part of an annual city-wide event coordinated through HandsOnRVA. Always eager to make a difference, UPS Freight volunteers and family members brightened up the hallways and dorm doors at our Espigh Family Shelter.

Our Men’s Emergency Shelter and Espigh Family Shelter combined served 450 individuals last year. Having a welcoming and comforting space to come home to while transitioning to permanent housing can make a huge difference for all of our clients.
